Procise Proud: Meet our team

Tech by day, theater by weekend: Get to know Procise’s Modern Workplace Architect, Daren Weier.

From transforming the way businesses collaborate with Microsoft 365 tools to performing on stage, Daren Weier brings passion, creativity, and expertise to everything he does.

What led you to pursue a career in tech/IT?

I got my start in technology by teaching basic computer skills to professionals who were receiving desktops and laptops for the first time.  My background in education helped me get the role, but helping people use technology to make things better is why I stayed, and what still excites me today.

Tell us about your career/education journey, what brought you to work at Procise?

I spent about a decade as a technical trainer, gradually moving into more advanced topics, eventually focusing on training IT professionals on Microsoft technologies. After relocating to Duluth, MN in 2004, I shifted into project-based work centered around the topics I had been teaching. More recently, my focus is on helping organizations implement Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, acting like a liaison between IT and business teams to transform how they work with M365 tools. Over the years, I had a lot of connections with the Procise team so when the opportunity came to work together full-time, it was an easy decision.

What tools or platforms do you use the most?

Most of my work revolves around Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and the broader suite of collaboration tools in Microsoft 365.

What is your favorite type of project to work on?

I enjoy large projects with complex needs—there’s something rewarding about bringing clarity and solutions to multifaceted challenges.

What do you enjoy the most about your work?

It’s all about the people. Working with great colleagues and clients is what keeps me energized.

What are your passions or hobbies outside of work?

Family keeps me busy—I have four adult children. I’m also an avid reader (especially science fiction and fantasy), love to travel, anywhere outdoorsy, and a performer at heart—I enjoy singing and acting.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I spend my summer weekends performing as an actor at a local amusement park!

What’s your favorite animal?

Large fluffy dogs, wolves, and bears (fluffy or not).   I also share my office with a chinchilla.
