Procise Proud: Meet our team

From learning programming on his first Apple II to developing complex business solutions, Jamie Scheitel’s path reflects a lifelong passion for technology and problem-solving. Read on to learn more about his favorite projects and what drives him both inside and outside of work.

Tell us about your career/education journey, what brought you to work at Procise?

My journey with programming began on Apple II computers. My mother, a business and technology teacher, would bring home a computer during summers and Christmas break to learn the material she would be teaching. While playing video games like any kid, I became curious about how applications were programmed.

Technology and music have been central to most of my pursuits. In the ’90s, while working in tech support at a medical manufacturer, I learned database programming and web application development out of necessity. I quickly discovered I was not only good at it but loved doing it. Nearly 30 years later, I continue to build custom business software solutions, mostly web-based applications with database infrastructures.

I’ve known the owners of Procise since the early 2000s and have worked with several team members over the years. When Jim asked me to join the team in 2018, I was finally in a position to do so and I’ve been grateful ever since.

What tools or platforms do you use the most?

  • .NET Web and Desktop applications, usually C#
  • SQL Server
  • SharePoint

What is your favorite type of project to work on?

I enjoy projects where I get to do most of the hands-on work, diving deep to understand problems and build solutions. If I can hyper-focus on a challenge and solve it, I’m in my happy place.

What do you enjoy the most about your work

I love the balance of working with fantastic people and tackling fun, challenging projects.

What are your passions or hobbies outside of work?

I’m married with two teenage children and love spending time with my family. Music is a big passion, I’ve been a drummer for 40 years and also enjoy playing guitar, piano, and singing.

What is your favorite animal?

My dog, Kimchi
